Since the Integrated Management Plan for Galle Fort prepared in 2015 is currently an outdated document, the Galle Heritage Foundation is currently updating the document considering the current issues with the newly adopted Retrospective Outstanding Universal Value as its basis. It will be prepared for implementation by the Galle Heritage Foundation together with its stakeholders for a six (06) year plan period. The Heritage Management Plan will satisfy/ fulfil requirements of all national and international agencies and authorities related to the Galle World Heritage Site and will comply with the national laws, and the Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention. The updated Management Plan will be ready for implementation by the end of 2024.
